Research of bacteriophages therapeutically effective against resistant bacterial strains occurring in medical facilities

Identification code: FV40027

Project solution period: 2019-2022

This project is implemented for financial

support from the state budget

through the Ministry of Industry and Trade

The aim of the project is to isolate and characterise bacteriophages, natural enemies of bacteria that could help in the future in the fight against the growing antibiotic resistance of microorganisms causing problems in health care facilities (so-called nosocomial infections). This type of infection mainly affects hospitalised patients who have undergone invasive procedures. The final phase of the project should include the preparation of a functional sample that will lead to the development of effective bactericidal products against resistant strains.
