Therapeutic effect of bacteriophages and their endolysins on opportunistic biofilm-forming bacterial infections
Identification code: FW01010350
Project solution period: 2020-2024

This project is implemented with the support of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic
The aim of the project is to build a pilot plant in the field of medicinal products against opportunistic bacterial infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, E. coli, Haemophillus influenzae forming a film, based on lytic phage recombinants and recombinant phages. Selected candidate phages and endolysins will be tested in vitro and in vivo for their efficacy and safety using experimental animal species (mouse, rabbit) artificially infected with the respective pathogen. The result of the project will be the development of effective preparation of specific phages and endolysins, methods of their control and production of the optimal dosage form.
